An avid photographer for two decades, Gary Haines is a native Coloradan living in Aurora with his wife and their son. He has traveled extensively to achieve some of his award winning photographs, logging countless hours in pursuit of "the perfect shot". While he works in several different settings, Haines considers wildlife photography to be one of his biggest challenges. Trying to anticipate an animal's movements or expressions, and then capture it at exactly the right moment can be arduous, but the rewards are many.

His 30 years as a firefighter gave him the skills needed to calmly assess the sometimes dangerous situations coming close to animals in the wild can create. Some of his most captivating photographs are those of nature's wildest creatures captured by his lens at very close quarters. Haines' work can be found in a variety of publications, galleries and his own Grizzly Creek Gallery in Georgetown, Colorado. Haines' young son, with his own camera, is fast becoming a regular addition to Gary expeditions!

A firm believer in the protection and preservation of our wildlife, Gary donates a portion of all his proceeds to national and local conservation organizations.
